Marine Life to Photograph
The biodiversity spanning the southern Sea of Cortez is truly remarkable. From the boat, dinghies, or while snorkeling, the surface activity is nothing short of spectacular. You may encounter dolphins, sea lions, and an array of whales, including pilot, humpback, blue, fin, sei, orca, and sperm whales. Additionally, flying mantas grace the waters, while the skies are alive with blue and brown-footed boobies, cormorants, frigate birds, and the endemic yellow-footed gull.
Snorkeling Conditions
In May/June Average water temperatures in May/June range from the mid-70s to low-80s. A full 3mm wetsuit is recommended for comfort. While the Sea of Cortez generally offers calm conditions, occasional rough seas can occur. ItтАЩs advisable to come prepared with sea sickness medication if needed.
